It looks like it is going to be a ladybird bonanza summer. I don’t know if anyone else has noticed the large number of ladybirds that have seem to have appeared this year? I’ve spotted (no pun intended) many in the garden.
On a walk this morning there were lots of them along the road’s verge, mainly on the nettles. I’ve never seen so many.
Here’s a photo of one of the ladybirds, on a nettle in the sunshine. Note the cuckoo spit, created by froghoppers on the underside of the leaves just to the left of the ladybird.
